Abstract

The purpose of this scientific article is to verify whether human rights are relevant to the prevalence of human dignity. To this end, the following problem was raised: are human rights relevant to the prevalence of human dignity? The following hypothesis was developed: human rights are relevant to the prevalence of human dignity. To this end, the historical evolution of human rights will be discussed. Subsequently, some of the characteristics that differentiate them from other rights will be presented, as well as their normative scope. Next, the dignity of the human person and its relationship with human rights. As for the methodology used, the Inductive Method was used in the Research Phase and the Cartesian Method in the Data Processing Phase. In the final considerations, it was concluded that human rights are relevantto the prevalence of human dignity, as long as there is no regression of rights already enshrined in the law.
